R. I . P. TOM CLANCY




Goodbye to an excellent craftsman, brilliant repository of military lore, and sublime writer.
 
   I DID have to look up a lot of the  technical stuff, or ask Chris calibers and weapons and battleships and acronyms as I sometimes plodded along, but he was  PHENOMENAL at his work.
 
  And if all he'd ever done was to whisper "JACK RYAN" out into the Universe one day, that would have been enough.

    I truly enjoyed most of is writing. He was far too aware of detail not to be tied in with the best of intelligence sources, which made the fictional consequences of character missteps all too disturbing for real life observers.

    You are so right Rachel, His talent for writing was so good. His detail could be a bit over the top sometimes but he was a true craftsman of his trade.
