I SWEAR, Y'all, I DO think it was that absolute teeth-gritting,keep-at-it concentration on the information I was looking up (and some of it was really difficult to find---like scrolling down hundreds of pages for one mention).
I've always felt that when I'm deeply "INTO" something, with no thought for health or stopping or tension or caring about anything but the quest---that and when I just feel sorry for Poor Lil Ole ME (not this time, not at all)---that's when I just let down and let a cold or other fluishness take over.
This one's almost over, but it hasn't been fun---came on Friday a.m., and by two, I was in full cough and sneeze, with a big night of that annoying hoyhoyhoy, which still comes and goes, dagnabbit.
Anyway---thank you for peeking in---just wanted to sorta excuse my absence and the fact that I haven't put word to paper about the little search I was making. I DO want to take time to do it justice, for it's a real story, with real people and real circumstances, partly of the time they lived, and partly of one man's kindness in seeing to the closing of things.
I swear to goodness, EVVA-Body's got the mulligrubs now!! Our whole group's developed the pip or the distemper or something---I mustered the energy it took to make a little pot of Egg-Drop Soup and some pear-and-cheese salads, and NOBODY ate more than five bites.
Thank y'all ALL for the good wishes---it's just not LIKE this group to be under the weather, and it just hurts me so bad when my LOVIES feel sick.
I appreciate each and every one of you, and hope to be back on the clock soon.
Let's see---how can I phrase it and stay the Lady you all know me to be: January SIPS----Through a BIGGGG straw!!
Goodnight all---I'd better get some sleep. Sweet Dreams to all.
Thank you all, Dearies, for the commisserations. I don't want ANYBODY coming into this house until I remember where I put that number for the local HAZMAT company. It's NEVER been like this, and I gotta get to work.
Marty---it was just so engrossing and interesting and so mesmerizing to just keep reading and seeking. I just got absorbed in the hunt and the learning, and let down every defense system, I think. It was like a tragic, poignant puzzle after a time, with just one more clue and one more piece. And now I have them all in hand, and hope to be able to put a coherent picture together in a few days.
I'm just so sorry you've had this, as well---hope your sweet family is all well and staying warm.
Rachel, please get better soon. And Chris, too!
ReplyDeleteHugs and lots of virtual chicken soup to you both!
