MORNING

The sun is blasting down the stairs, I've finished almost a whole percolator of very rich YUBAN, and Chris is dismantling a huge pork butt which went onto the grill after the burgers came off last night. It had its own gentle, smoky nap whilst we slept, and now is at the beyond-slicing stage, on into kinda wobbling apart beneath the big knife into rich, moist clumps. The aroma from the kitchen is about to lift me bodily by my nose and drift me in there, like Bugs Bunny. We're going to have some for breakfast, and get ourselves out into that sunshine and take aholt of that Winter-wrecked patio. I swear, if you don't hear from me in the next few days, send a search party---we'll probably be either buried under lawn chairs and bushels of leaves and limbs, or the neighbors will have US hauled away by the Health Department. Everybody have a GOOD day! PS Is ANYBODY else having trouble lately making Blogger recognize paragraphs? I seem to be making big blocks of words, with no divisions, and no amount of EDIT will fix it.

  2. Mike is in the depths! He meant to smoke a butt this weekend and forgot to get it out to thaw. I don't know if Chris' pork made him feel better or WORSE! Have a lovely day in the sunshine. We met Jessica this morning for a wonderful city brunch, but now that I'm home, I'm chaining myself to the computer for trip planning. England planning is all but done - Paris is next!

  3. Oh, you poor thing!!! All that Paris planning---you must be just in despair every second AND BORED TO TEARS!!

Please enjoy some of our pork, Y'all---I think this morning was the first time I'd made slaw OR paminna cheese so early, but they were terrific with the toasty-bun/slaw/pulled pork/Sweet Baby Ray's sandwiches for lunch. My shirt looked like I'd been in a bar fight, and we used about a dozen paper towels each.

Miss Patsy, I sure wish you and The Bennie had been here to join us!!

  6. Oh, Yeaaaah!! Terrific---Chris seemed to want something else for supper, so he had a bowl of Caro's divine chicken/mushroom/noodles with an absolutely absolute sauce. I had another BBQ and ruined ANOTHER SHIRT!! I just drenched them both with great scribbles of DAWN and hope they'll come out clean.

Miss Maggie, you'd be SO welcome to join us any time.

Kim---I did a great long comment re duvets and curling irons and June, and it got lost, AGAIN. Your intended sites are just stunning, and I'm so glad for you young folks to be doing all that walking and stair-climbing.
