CHEAP and CHEERFUL

My friend Maggie---wordsmith extraordinaire---has started a new blog about little everyday things which bring her joy. And that they're inexpensive only adds to the charm. From fancy little cupcake papers to a bag of frozen spinach, she's had me captivated since the first word.

I've enjoyed her writing for several years---she's way younger than I, but she's who I'd like to grow up to be. And the selection of her piece Eggs Enough and Time for inclusion in the book BEST FOOD WRITING 2009 has spread one enormous gloat amongst all her friends.
DO have a look-in for some cheer, some inexpensive sources of fun things, and some dadgum fine writing.

  2. Oh Rachel, you are so sweet -- and Lawn Tea is on my blogroll. (I finally figured it out!) BTW, those are some swell, cheap cheerful cupcake papers. I love dots!

    (Thanks, Tonya!)

  3. I, too, visited Maggie and have added her to my "favorites" list. I look forward to reading more of her stories.

Thank you for sharing her with us, Rachel. She has a way with words, too.

  4. Hi Rachel, I must visit your friend Maggie. If you give her a shout out, I am sure I will be impressed with her posts as well. Thanks Rachel.

I am still trying to get the needle work mailed. I have been beyond busy this past week. I am going to town tomorrow and they will be on their way.

You are right, this weekend, in spite of the snow and no internet, we had the happiest of times. All is quiet again, It is a good thing. Now I must sew on the quilt blocks again. It is a wonder seeing them turn into the lovely background for the appliqued birds. Progress is slow.

    Have a wonderful day.
    Hugs, Jeanne

  5. You and Maggie couldn't be more different as writers and yet you are similar in that you both have such unique 'voices'. I can now visit with two of my favorite writers as often as I want. Thank you so much for telling us about this, Rachel!
